USING AI-BASED GAMES IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING
Abstract
This article shows the importance of using AI-based games in teaching English as a foreign language. In today's modern world, artificial intelligence helps students learn effectively in many areas, especially in creating smart learning and teaching atmosphere through these online game platforms such as Kahoot, Quizlet and others, because these games increase engagement, active participation and games adapt assignments according to learners’ knowledge and performance, making lessons more beneficial. Using different online games in the classroom gives every learner a remarkable opportunity especially when they know how to use them and when to use them. Games are an effective and successful method for improving learners’ listening, speaking, grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing skills. They also play an important role in enhancing creativity, critical thinking and strong teamwork skills among students. Key words: AI-based games, online platforms, English language teaching, effectiveness of education, successful method, improving communication skills, learning process. Introduction. Using AI-based games contributes significantly to the learning process by making the lessons more interactive, interesting and enjoyable. Nowadays, more and more learners are becoming less motivated in studying new information, especially learning foreign languages. Therefore, many teachers suggest an idea of using online game platforms such as Kahoot, Quizizz, ChatGPT and Duolingo in teaching for encouraging students to be more motivated and productive, creating enjoyable and inspiring classroom environment. Especially, these above online educational games have a crucial role in teaching English. In today's modern world, many people tend to play online games rather than learning, so if we incorporate games into our lesson plan, we may stay more motivated and engaged in learning instead of feeling bored during the class.
