Abstract

This article examines the intercultural communication challenges encountered by Uzbek tourists visiting the United Kingdom. Drawing upon established intercultural communication theories, including Hofstede's cultural dimensions and Hall's high/low-context communication, it analyzes potential barriers arising from linguistic, pragmatic, non-verbal, and socio-cultural discrepancies. It synthesizes existing comparative cultural data to infer likely points of friction and misunderstanding. It argues that significant socio-economic and cultural divergences between Uzbekistan and the UK contribute to these challenges, impacting tourist adaptation and overall experience.
