FUNCTIONAL FRAMEWORKS FOR TRANSLATING MODERN ECONOMIC NEOLOGISMS
Abstract
In the contemporary landscape of global finance and digital integration, the emergence of economic neologisms presents a unique challenge for linguistic mediation. This research explores the application of Skopos Theory as a primary framework for translating specialized economic terminology, shifting the focus from traditional literal equivalence toward functional adequacy. By analyzing recent developments in financial discourse between 2024 and 2026, the study examines how translators act as strategic agents who prioritize the communicative purpose of a text. The findings suggest that for high-stakes economic documentation, such as annual reports or trade agreements, a functionalist approach effectively mitigates legal risks and enhances cross-cultural accessibility.Keyword
