Abstract

This article analyzes the transformations that are happening in teaching foreign languages with the help of AI technologies. This research compares AI-based technology methods with traditional approach according to their advantages, limitations, as well as its effect. Particular focus is given to AI approach’s advantages to listening, speaking, improving their motivation showing the impact of AI tools in students’ independent learning, and communicative competence. AI-powered applications, likewise Duolingo, Oxford allow students to practice actively and receive feedback immediately. In addition, disadvantages are described, such as obsession with technology, not enough direct communication. This research shows that AI cannot replace the teacher’s role, however aids to improve teaching atmosphere with interactive and useful games.
