THE EFFECTS OF DIGITAL TOOLS ON VOCABULARY LEARNING IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE EDUCATION
Abstract
This study investigates the effects of digital technologies on vocabulary development among young second language learners. Different methods was used, with data collected through questionnaires, interviews, and classroom observation. Students who are using more interactive and gamified applications showed better results compared to those who are in the view of conventional ways to retain vocabulary. Tools such as Duolingo and Quizlet can be as proof for better outcomes owing to features like repetition, immediate feedback, and interesting activities that can support long-term memory. However, there are such challenges along the way such as distractions, limited internet connection, and insufficient teacher training. Overall, the findings emphasize the value of mobile-assisted language learning in enhancing vocabulary acquisition.
