ASSESSING THE IMPACT OF AI-ASSISTED WRITING ON STUDENTS’ ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE
Abstract
The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies has significantly transformed modern education, particularly in the field of academic writing. This study aims to assess the impact of AI-assisted writing tools on students’ academic performance. AI-powered applications such as grammar checkers, text generators, and writing assistants provide learners with real-time feedback, improving the quality, coherence, and accuracy of their writing. The research employs a mixed-method approach, combining quantitative data from student performance assessments and qualitative feedback from learners. The findings indicate that AI tools contribute positively to students’ writing skills by enhancing vocabulary usage, grammatical accuracy, and overall text organization. However, the study also highlights potential challenges, including overreliance on technology and reduced critical thinking skills. The paper concludes that while AIassisted writing tools are effective in supporting academic performance, they should be used as supplementary tools rather than replacements for traditional learning methods.
